Governance and Management of IT

 

An introductory course about the leadership, organisational structures and processes required to support enterprise objectives and strategy through the governance and management of Information Technology (IT) systems.

DESCRIPTION

This introductory course will explore the concepts surrounding Information Technology governance, tools and techniques. IT Governance as an integral part of corporate governance focuses on Information Technology (IT) systems, their performance and risk management. The course is modeled on best practices in the field of governance and management of IT practices. It will discuss a range of topics, including:

 

  • Corporate and IT Governance
  • Best practices for IT governance
  • IT governance framework
  • Information security governance
  • ITvestment and allocation practices
  • IT policies and procedures
  • Risk management (processes, analysis methods)
  • Human resource management in IT governance.

    Applied Computing Technology

     

    This course is suitable for Students, Finance Officers, Accountants, Project Managers, Computer Scientists, Researchers and all those interested in application of quantitative methods to analyzing and reporting on financial data. Participants will acquire the ability to apply modeling techniques to any operational scenario. The course covers how to use tools such as excel and excel solver to build easy to maintain financial models, financial statements, create dashboards, create robust macros, project or equity evaluation, sensitivity analysis, capital budgeting, etc.
